Empathy For Those Around Me

I see so many people

Beady, hungry eyes

Pleading for my help

Stress is not disguised.

Do my best to show my hand

Empathy inside me grows

Where each person’s future lies

Only God above shall know.

Tossing, turning, swaying

Asking which way to go

Asking me to show the way

But do I really know!?

My heart bleeds for the people

Their voice I have to be

Bad decisions have left a scar

Now its up to me.

Picking up their pieces

Lay them on the floor

I start to help them rebuild their lives

Instead of showing them the door.
