Go Ahead And Let Her

Don't let her beauty fool you, boys. I can tell you a secret if you promise to keep quiet? That girl over there, she likes to inject venom into your heart, and let it penetrate your soul. Soon, you will become addicted and there will be no turning back. If you are a sucker for punishment, then go ahead and let her.

Her smile is so powerful it could blister the sun. Her laughter so beautiful, it could make angels cry. Her words so sweet, even sugar tastes bitter. But she will rob you of all you have. She has the power to drain you, like an ocean without water. Like a sun with no rays. Do you wish this upon yourself? Then go ahead and let her.

Be careful where you leave your heart because she will grasp it with two hands, and squeeze it tightly. The blood will drain and when there is nothing left, she will drop it on the floor. You don't believe me, you say? Go ahead and let her.

To all the men who think you will be different, that her powers will not work on you, stop being delirious. Do you not know that the power of a woman can be just as strong, if not stronger than that of a man? You cannot be invincible against her, every man she feeds off, she strengthens. If you want to be part of her experiment, then go ahead and let her.

I can provide you with an antidote that may just well allow you to survive, but silly boys won't use it properly. For they look to the exterior and never delve into reason or action. Her intent lays deep within. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but she has made you blind. Her insides are something you cannot see, until it's too late. If you want to get out alive, then don't let her go ahead and kill you.

Mother Nature's Call

The rain, it came tumbling down. Not gently, but fiercely.
We never expected a torrential downpour such as this.
So rapidly the dams did fill. So quickly people lost their homes.
Devastation was caused all over our humble country.
Families had to flee the place they once called home.
Panic and worry. Heartbreak and hurt. All caused by the tears from above.
Now we cry. Mother nature played her game. We were never prepared to lose.
The skies have dried but our land has not. The aftermath remains.
A cleanup begins with all hands on deck. Our community works together.
We delve deep into compassion. Differences aside to get the job done.
History began the day the skies opened and didn't close for what seemed like a lifetime.
An event such as this can only make us stronger and bring us closer.
From here we can only remain strong. We need to in order to survive.
Lives have been lost, as have years of hard work with nothing left to show.
Houses camouflage with the water, just like wearing an invisibility cloak.
The damage seems almost irreparable. Together we fall but united we must stand.

On A Rainy Day

The rain sounds beautiful and the air is the perfect amount of cold.
I lay inside, curled up on the sofa with a book in my hand. Hot chocolate here we come!
Tears roll down my face as the story I have immersed myself in, touches my heart.
Book, you have tugged at my heartstrings.
I look out the window and see droplets of water fall from the sky and create puddles on the ground. You wouldn't believe that it's summer right now.
Soft music plays in the background but I feel like closing my eyes and listening to the rain hit the roof instead. It's like the heaven has created bliss here on earth, and I get to be a part of it.
I'm not sure if you have ever noticed, but when the teardrops of the skies fall onto leaves, they glisten. There is something magical about it.
I wish I had a pair of gumboots so I could take myself back to being a child, and jump in the puddles. A childhood memory that brings a smile to my face.
Parts of me wants to jump into a ballgown and stand out in the middle of a park, twirling in cirles and letting the rain drench me. For no reason at all, but to seem a little crazy.
I am sure that if you stared at me through a window on a day like today, there would be a warm feeling inside of you for seeing how content I am.
The simple things in life satisfy me.
On a rainy day, I am inspired. The rain brings something out in me that you only get to see in weather such as this.
